Localization Content Manager

Location: Riyadh / RemoteDepartment: Publishing / GrowthReports To: Head of Publishing
Publishing / GrowthRiyadh / RemoteFull-timeEnglish Required

The Mission

We are not just translating games; we are cultivating digital experiences that feel native to the Gulf. We are seeking a visionary Localization Content Manager to lead our voice in the MENA region.

You will be the bridge between our game developers, our User Acquisition (UA) team, and the rich tapestry of Arab culture. Your mandate is to ensure our games—and the ads that sell them—resonate deeply with the distinct identities of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Culturalization & Product Adaptation(40%)

  • Cultural Gatekeeping: Review all in-game content (narrative, character art, environments, events) to ensure cultural safety and resonance. Proactively identify and mitigate "red flag" content (e.g., religious sensitivities, geopolitical inaccuracies, inappropriate social interactions) to ensure compliance with regional regulations (GCAM, NMC).
  • Art & Design Consultation: Partner with Art Directors to guide visual aesthetics. Advise on character costumes, architectural styles, and color symbolism to appeal to specific GCC tastes (e.g., advising on the nuance between an "Orientalist" fantasy and an authentic regional homage).
  • Linguistic Direction: Oversee the quality of Arabic localization. Move beyond Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) where appropriate; develop strategies for using local dialects (Najdi, Egyptian, Levantine) in voice-overs and creative assets to build emotional connection.

2. User Acquisition (UA) Creative Strategy(40%)

  • Hyper-Localized Campaign Design: Develop specific creative strategies for key markets. Define what a "Kuwaiti Campaign" looks like versus a "Saudi Campaign."
  • Creative Briefing & Production: Translate cultural insights into actionable briefs for the UA art team. Write scripts for video ads that utilize local memes, trends, and slang correctly.
  • Performance Analysis: Sit with UA Managers to analyze creative performance (IPM, CTR, ROAS). Decode why a specific creative won or lost based on cultural factors (e.g., "The pacing was too slow for the TikTok generation in KSA," or "The dialect didn't match the character archetype").

3. Market Intelligence & Trend Forecasting(20%)

  • The "Cultural Pulse": Maintain a live knowledge base of what is trending in the GCC. Which Saudi influencers are rising? What is the current meme meta in Kuwaiti social media? What TV shows are dominating Ramadan viewership?
  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor top-grossing games in the region to identify localization and creative trends. Reverse-engineer their successful cultural adaptations.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Adaptation Experience: 5+ years in the gaming industry, with a focus on Localization, Publishing, or Creative Strategy in the MENA region.
  • UA & Performance Proficiency: Experience in user acquisition with both paid and organic channels, with proficiency in audience targeting.
  • Nationality & Language: Saudi National. Native Arabic (Saudi dialects) and professional English.
  • Gamer DNA: You understand the psychology of a "Whale" in Kuwait and a competitive grinder in Jeddah. You know the difference between PUBG mobile culture and Genshin Impact fandoms in the region.
  • Visual & Creative Literacy: You can look at a character design or a video ad and immediately pinpoint why it will (or won't) work in Dubai. You can give constructive feedback to artists who may not know the culture.
  • Strategic Mindset: You don't just fix typos; you fix concepts. You think in terms of LTV, Retention, and conversion rates.

Key Deliverables

  • The GCC Cultural Bible: A living internal wiki detailing "Do's and Don'ts" for art, text, and audio in each GCC country.
  • Monthly Creative Roadmap: Delivery of 4–6 region-specific ad concepts per month, tailored to upcoming local events (National Days, Ramadan, Eid).
  • LQA & Cultural Audit Reports: Pre-release audits of all game content.

KPIs

  • Creative IPM (Installs Per Mille): Uplift in install rates for localized creatives vs. generic global creatives.
  • Cultural Quality Score: Reduction in linguistic/cultural bug reports post-launch.
  • Regional ROAS: Contribution to Return on Ad Spend improvement through higher-quality, culturally relevant ads.
